The Service Confirmation business object is used to confirm working times, service parts, tools used and expenses for services performed.
The service confirmation is subdivided into items, which are items of a customer-specific business transaction that focuses on delivering goods or providing a service, on the prices, and on preparing the invoice. The item consists of the identifying and administrative item information for a service confirmation and contains, in addition to the schedule lines, all the data that applies to the item: in other words, the product information, the parties involved, the agreements on sales, delivery, and invoicing, the status, references, and so on.
Depending on the size and magnitude of the work, it may not be possible to close the order (final phase of the customer service execution process) at the end of the day. For example, in a service request involving multiple line items, line one and two of may be complete while lines three through five remain outstanding. In such a case, the technician can alter the status of the service order without officially closing it, by confirming it. At this juncture, the service order is listed as "partially confirmed." To submit partial confirmation, the technician uses the Create Service Confirmation enterprise service, which uses the Service Confirmation business object.
