You can use the Create Demand Forecast inbound operation to create a demand forecast for a single location product.
You can use the Create Demand Forecasts inbound operation to create a demand forecast for multiple location products. See also Manage Service Part Demand Forecast In and Query Service Part Demand Forecast In service interfaces.
When you create a demand forecast, the back-end system is supplied with new key figure values and new time series. The system gets these from the Service Parts Planning processor, which can be an external planning system. The new key figure values and time series can then be used to trigger further steps in the back-end system.
The Create Demand Forecast request message accepts the following data as input:
If successful, the operation returns a confirmation message that includes the ID of the demand forecast and all key input data (per request message list above). If the operation is unsuccessful, no demand forecast is created in the back-end, and the operation returns an error message in the log.
