The
Supply Planning Exception
business object can be used to support the monitoring of exceptions in external procurement processes.
An exception indicates an unplanned or critical situation that requires intervention to be resolved. The operation of this business object allows you to find exceptions that need the attention of a planner.
You want to implement your own custom-defined application that allows a planner to monitor all orders that require his or her approval. The planner might like to monitor purchase orders and purchase requisitions, as well as all related exceptions, for which they are responsible.

The exceptions involved in the Supply Planning Exception business object correspond to the alerts generated in Supply Parts Planning (SPP). SPP alerts are mainly created by SPP applications, and are uniquely identified by four-character alert type IDs that begin with 78.
