Business Context and Use

The Notify of Insurance Dunning Progression operation informs about the following dunning-relevant events from the Insurance Contract Accounts Receivables Payables Processing process component:

This information is required to trigger a follow-up process, for example, in the Policy Management at Customer process component. If the customer pays his outstanding premiums at a later date, the dunning run ends the related dunning progression and the Insurance Contract Accounts Receivables Payables Processing process component sends the information about the new status of the dunning progression to the Policy Management at Customer process component.

A running dunning procedure bundles several dunning headers according to the dunning grouping in the dunning variant.

This outbound service interface is relevant for the Insurance industry solution.

Features

The Notify of Insurance Dunning Progression operation notifies about the current state of a insurance dunning progression. It contains the most basic elements of the insurance dunning progression like dunned business partner, related insurance contract, reached dunning level and dunning amounts.

Reaching a critical dunning level for an insurance policy might trigger follow-up processes in other systems like Policy Management Systems. For instance, it can be the trigger to initiate the cancellation of an insurance policy or classify the start of a benefit-free period. These systems will also be notified via this service operation, if the running dunning procedure is ended, for instance because of an incoming payment.

Prerequisites

You must use the dunning by dunning procedure for insurance companies. If you use dunning by collection strategy the system does not create any instances of the Insurance Dunning Progression  business object, it only creates a dunning notice.

Integration

To retrieve more details about the Insurance Dunning Progression , you can use the Find Insurance Dunning Progression by Basic Data  operation.

Constraints

The information container processes the information from the dunning history and can therefore only process dunning information from dunning processes for dunning by dunning procedure for insurance companies, not for dunning by collection strategy.

Notes on SAP Implementation

This operation can only be used if the business function SAP for Insurance: Collections/Disbursements 1 is activated.
