A physical sample is
examined during the inspection procedure. A sample can be taken
from a material independent of an inspection lot and, if necessary,
be assigned to an inspection lot at a later time.
Material Inspection Sample enhances the material inspection process
for processing samples as follows:

the process industry for documenting and tracking the physical
samples drawn in material inspections.

Example:
A sample from the inbound delivery of a material is taken for a physical-chemical test in a laboratory. Specifications for the sample size and sample drawing are stored in the sample data. The sample inspection scope is in the inspection lot.
