Transportation lanes are relationships between two locations, two transportation zones, or a combination of locations and transportation zones that express the direct reachability of the locations, or of all locations within the zones for a specific means of transport. Transportation lanes are used during the planning of distribution and procurement between different locations. Products can only be procured if a valid transportation lane between the locations exists.
Means of transport are classes of vehicle resources, for example, a container ship or cargo ship. You assign a means of transport to each vehicle resource.
You can use the
Change Lane Valid Transport Means
inbound operation to change the means of transport of a transportation lane. You can also add a means of transport, delete a means of transport, or replace all existing means of transport assignments with new ones.
The Change Transportation Lane inbound operation is used to change transportation lanes. You can also use this service to change the means of transport-related attributes.
The Change Lane Valid Material inbound operation is used to change the valid products for a transportation lane.
The Change Lane Valid Transport Means inbound operation is used to change the means of transport or the means of transport-related attributes of a transportation lane, such as the following:
It can also change the special rules for assignments of means of transports to products (product-specific means of transport). The operation returns the header data of the transportation lane and all changed data. It also returns a list of all means of transport valid for the transportation lane.
This inbound operation uses external IDs from SAP ERP for locations and materials; the SAP APO internal IDs are used as internal IDs.

To make the transportation lane valid for all products, you set the GeneralUsageAllowedIndicator to True.

This service operation does not provide an element to specify a supply planning model. The default value "000" will be used instead.
