Business Context and Use

You can use the Create Demand Forecasts Key Figure inbound operation to add new key figures to a demand forecast for multiple location products for a specified period.

Features

When you create demand forecast key figures, the back-end system is supplied with new key figure values and new time series. The system gets these from the Service Parts Planning  processor, which can be an external planning system. The new key figure values and time series can then be used to trigger further steps in the back-end system.

The Create Demand Forecasts Key Figure  request message accepts the following data as input:

• Planning version
• Location
• Product
• Virtual child location indicator
• Third-party order processing indicator
• Key figure name
• Key figure values
• Time series period

Note that the same input is required for each location product to which the key figure is to be added to the demand forecast.

If successful, the operation returns a confirmation message that includes the ID of the demand forecast and all key input data (per request message list above). If the operation is unsuccessful, no key figures are added to the demand forecast in the back-end, and the operation returns an error message in the log.
