The ES Workplace is the central place to view consolidated information about all available Enterprise Services delivered by SAP. It provides various entry points for different roles, from Architects to Process Experts. The ES Workplace is the starting point for SOA adoption, from discovery of services to evaluation of services and development of exemplary proof-of-concept composite applications on a freely accessible hosted SAP Business Suite system landscape for business and technology justification.
Exploring Enterprise Services involves the following three phases:
There are several ways to discover Enterprise Services:
The Enterprise Service operations described on this site inlude technical data, detailed field descriptions and corresponding WSDL files. This information allows for an in depth evaluation of individual Enterprise Service operations. Additionally you can use the Web Services Navigator tool to search and test Enterprise Services right away. The Services Registry also contains a 'Test' link to call the Web Services Navigator for every Enterprise Service operation available in the ES Workplace system landscape.
Most Enterprise Service operations described on this site are available in the globally accessible ES Workplace system landscape. Use the SOA Registration Form to get access to the whole system landscape for free. This allows you to start implementing applications which consume Enterprise Services right away.
You can find additional help for implementing Enterprise Services by having a look into the corresponding Simple sample applications for enterprise services consumption (Simple Sample Apps). Simple Sample Apps are available ready-to-run in the ES Workplace environment, together with technical documentation, coding, implementation models and demo data. SAP customers and partners can download and install these applications locally and test them against the back-end systems of the hosted ES Workplace testing environment.
